About this deal

The intuitive layout control panel guarantees immediate use and provides three different units. Tool's 30° angle for comfortable reading. This means that the engine has to work harder, leading to more fuel being consumed — it’s estimated that if your tyres are under-inflated by 10%, fuel consumption will go up by 2%. Is it worth getting a tyre inflator? You feel as if, when you turn it on, it'll measure the amount of radiation in the atmosphere, not air pressure.

Review: Bosch EasyPump | road.cc

He was heavily involved in the mountain bike boom of the late 1980s as a racer, team manager and race promoter, and that led to writing for Mountain Biking UK magazine shortly after its inception. He got the gig by phoning up the editor and telling him the magazine was rubbish and he could do better. Rather than telling him to get lost, MBUK editor Tym Manley called John’s bluff and the rest is history. The premium hose has textile cover and a threaded metal coupler, small enough to also reach valves in narrow spaces. The attachable 24-cm hose is rotatable 360°. The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing. Many new cars come equipped with their own tyre inflators, which is a surefire sign it's worth getting one.

11. Ryobi 18V ONE+ High Pressure Inflator

Small tool, big performance: the EasyPump is Bosch's intuitive air pump for all applications of up to 10.3 bar. The unit's real-time measurement and the pre-select function supports convenient and precise inflation results. The pump features a clear interface and a roomy display, readable during daylight. Its compact and lightweight design makes it an ideal companion to take along. Equipped with various adapters, neatly stored in the storage compartment, the EasyPump can inflate all sorts of tyres (e.g., car, bike), balls (e.g., footballs), and even small water sports articles. Inflating has never been easier. Same comments apply as with the Makita inflator: someone at these huge, technically clever companies can surely come up with a better system than screw-on brass adapters. It doesn’t look quite as snazzy as some of the others, thanks to the fact that it’s adorned in a cheap-looking silver plastic, but after all, you’re squatting on the ground with grease on your hands — elegance is already out of the window.

Almost all bikes now use Presta valves and a suitable adapter is included with the EasyPump. Unfortunately, it’s extremely inconvenient and cumbersome to use, since the adapter has to be screwed on to the valve. We never managed to get it to fit 100% tight or sit perfectly on the valve, which is just annoying! To ensure a good connection, it had to be screwed on firmly, but doing so caused a different problem altogether: applying too much force to the valve made the valve itself twist, breaking the seal of our tubeless setup and springing a leak. 6. Michelin Programmable Rapid Tyre Inflator

However, most manufacturers use the 13-inch tyre as a measure of inflation speed, so we’ll forgive Halfords that. In reality, we found that the Halfords Rapid Digital Tyre Inflator could take a 17-inch wheel from 22psi to 32psi — a range that you’re unlikely to need day-to-day if you’re diligent about keeping your tyres in good condition — in 1 minute and 36 seconds. Larger inflators include rechargeable batteries, which make them completely portable. These are a better option if you want to pump up, say, bicycle tyres, without having to wheel the bike next to your car. You may also need a larger inflator for tyres that need higher-than-average pressures, such as a larger van or campervan. What about extras? Ideal for inflating car tyres or sports equipment, The Ryobi One has an easy-view pressure gauge and a powerful motor for rapid inflation. It allows up to 150psi of pressure and includes two high pressure nozzles and a sports and ball needle if required. The Halfords model was one of the most compact devices we tested, meaning that it doesn’t take up precious boot space. However, it doesn’t come with a case, like the admittedly pricier Ring RTC1000, meaning that it’s vulnerable to getting scuffed by other things that you put into your boot.

Integrated above the hose, Bosch's bright LED light makes sure the valve area is always illuminated. It’s noisy, dishing out 77dB in operation. And the pressure gauge can be difficult to read since, because it goes up to 250psi, that crucial 0 to 60psi zone is crammed into the first quarter of the dial. However, it pumped up our test tyre from 20 to 30psi in just under two-and-a-half minutes, with no fuss or faff. It’s a shame that the supplied accessories are so basic – just a ball inflator and two adaptors for inflatable toys – still, if you’re looking to spend as little as possible, then the Storm Force Mini does the job. While there are plenty out there, one of the best is Halfords' rechargeable inflator, which features a max pressure of 120psi as well as an auto cut-off function. As mentioned before, driving on under-inflated tyres mean that there is more friction between the tyre and the road. Add air until you’ve reached the correct pressure, detach the inflator, and replace the valve caps. How do under inflated-tyres affect your vehicle?PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions! So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
